Sudan International Mining Forum kicks off on Tuesday

Khartoum, February 16 (SUNA) - The 3-day International Mining Forum and Exhibition in Sudan is due to kick off on Tuesday, with the participation of a number of countries and major companies working in the field of mining. Prime Minister Dr. Abdallah Hamdouk is expected to address the opening session at the Friendship Hall as well as the Minister of Energy and Mining Adel Ali Ibrahim and a number of ministers of the economic sector. The forum, which is to be organized by the Ministry of Energy and Mining represented by the Public Geological Research Corporation, is considered as the biggest gathering of decision makers and commercial actors in the field of mining as it attracts thousands of specialists in the sector. A number of specialized scientific papers will be presented in the forum by a number of mining experts, foreigners and Sudanese, in addition to holding of a session on investment in mining with the participation of a number of ministers of the economic sector. The forum represents an opportunity to explore the world of mining in Sudan and it will also serve as a starting point for licensing new blocks in mining.
