Free Trade Zone to be Easablshed between Sudan and South Sudan

Jabalain Oct 28 (SUNA)- Sudan and South Sudan State laid down foundation stone for the free trade zone (ftz) between the two counties on Tuesday at Al-Makhalef, in Jaballain Locality, White Nile State.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr. Hiba Mohamed Ali, the Minister of Defense,Maj. Gen.Yassin Ibrahim, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Medani Abas Medani and the Governor of the White Nile State, Ismail Warag. 

The participants from South Sudan State were the Minister of Interior, the Police Commissioner and the Military Intelligence Director.

Dr. Hiba enumerated the economic advantages of the free trade zone in developing the relations between the twocountries, referring to the deeply rooted ties linking Sudan and South Sudan.   

She pointed that the free trade zone would avail job opportunities for the indigenous people in the area, besides providing  hard currency for the national treasury.

The Wali (Governor) of the While Nile State, Ismail Wrrag, said that the Sudanese peace agreement, which was signed in Juba, will contribute to opening a new chaptere in the history of the country based on the development process and the improvement of the economic situation.
