Prof. Tawer Informed on Situation in West Darfur State

Khartoum, Oct. 28 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Prof. Siddiq Tawer, received in his office at the Republican Palace Wednesday the Wali (governor) of West Darfur State, Mohamed Abdalla Al-Doma, and reviewed the political and security situation in the state.

The Wali (governor) said in a press statement that the state is now witnessing stability in the security situation following the incidents that took place in the areas of Krending and Mesteri.

He said that the conditions have returned to normal after the arrival of big security reinforcements in the state, pointing to the leading role of tribal leaders and the native administrations in supporting the process of peaceful coexistence.

He pointed to the ongoing arrangements for the success of the agricultural harvest season and the treatment of the problem of electricity and water provision, in addition to the state's efforts for enhancing security, achieving stability and peace and combating the smuggling in the state.

The Wali (governor) noted that his state will hold national building conferences in November.
He congratulated the member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council on the removing of Sudan from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.
