Khartoum, June 9 (SUNA) – A sitting of joint talks between the Sudnese and Egyptian sides started Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Sudanese side was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddiq Al-Mahdi, and included the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, while the Egyptian side included the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources, Sameh Shukri, and the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Mohamed Abdul-Atti, in the presence of members of the two parties.
The talks dealt with the issue of the Renaissance Dam and the continuous efforts to strengthen the relations between the two countries, as well as consultations on various issues of concern to the two countries.
The Egyptian delegation will meet with the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, and the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan.
A joint communique will be issued by the end of the Sudanese – Egyptian talks.
