
Khartoum, May 12 (SUNA) - The visiting Egyptian civil society delegation paid a visit , today, to headquarters of the Coptic Orthodox Church, and met with the priests at church amid exchange of words of welcome and praise.
The delegation was accompanied by the general Consul of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Khartoum, Counselor Ahmed Adly Imam. The delegation received by Anba Elia, Bishop of Khartoum , Anba Sarabamoun, Bishop of Omdurman , and Archpriest Philothos Faraj, priest of the Church of the Two Martyrs in Khartoum, the priests, the Committee of the Church of the Virgin in Khartoum and the Committee of St. George's Church in Omdurman. The head of the Egyptian delegation and the former foreign minister, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, said that the delegation came on a mission of love and brotherhood to the brotherly people of Sudan, pointing out that Egypt is now leading the path of development and peace in the region and wants Sudan to catch up with development alongside Egypt. On his part, Anba Elia welcomed the delegation, expressing his happiness for the visit and the kind gesture of the Egyptian civil society delegation. Archbishop Philothus Faraj affirmed his happiness at the visit, describing it as important , welcoming the visit of delegation and presence of the Consul General of Egypt in Sudan, stressing the eternal relationship between Egypt and Sudan. It is to be noted that the Egyptian delegation met early this day at a breakfast banquet with a group of representatives of the "Resistance Committees" in Khartoum, and the organizations of families of the martyrs of the Sudanese revolution. fa/ab
