Khartoum, Aug. 4 (SUNA) – The Executive Director of the People of Sudan Initiative, Hashem Mohamed Al-Sheikh Qareeballa, has said that the African Union will be present at the Round Table Conference, which is expected to be held in Khartoum, and all political components and actors in the Sudanese scene will be invited, in order to unify visions leading to a transitional government that will lead the country to free and fair elections.

Hashem said in a press statement after his meeting today at the Friendship Hall  with the African Union Representative in Sudan, Mohamed Belaiche,  that he briefed Ambassador Belaiche on the Initiative of the People of Sudan, noting that the initiative will have meetings with the UNITAMS mission, the European Union and some countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and others in addition to other meetings with all the actors concerned with the Sudanese issue, stressing that the initiative seeks to unite

the ranks, saying they will be in constant contact with the African Union and expressed his hope that contacts will be made with all components for convening the Round Table Conference at the earliest opportunity.

On his part, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bahari, a member of the External Communication Committee, pointed out that the current situation in Sudan needs a quick treatment, noting that today's meeting with the African Union underscored that the Sudanese would handle their own issues.
