Shendi, Aug. 15 (SUNA)- The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and General Commander of the Armed Forces, Gen. Abdul-Fattah Al-Burhan, attended on Monday in Shendi city, Nahral-Neil State, the Great National Night Festival, which took place as part of the celebration marking the 68th anniversary of the National Day of the Armed Forces.
The celebration of the 68th National Day of the Armed Forces included artistic performance, national poems presented by a number of the Armed Forces’ men, besides honoring to the martyrs’ families, as well as offering houses to them.
The ceremony also included honoring to a number of former commanders of the North Command, along with retired and in service officers and non-commissioned officers for their distinguished performance.
Gen. Al-Burhan has paid tribute for the martyrs of the country and the Armed Forces, praising the efforts of the former commanders and all Armed Forces’ personnel in defending the homeland.
He also saluted the citizens of Nahral-Neil State who reflected the bright image of the Sudanese citizen by their hosting to the celebrations of the National Day of the Armed Forces.
The acting Governor (Wali) of Nahral-Neil State, Mohamed Badawi, has thanked the Armed Forces for choosing the state to host the Army’s great celebrations.
The celebration also attended by Chief of Staff, Gen. Mohamed Osman Al-Hussein, the Director of the Defense Industries System and the whole of Armed Forces’ Staff, along with the acting Wali of Nahral-Neil State, the commanders of Security and Police forces and the Chieftain of Ja’aliyeen tribe as well as a big number of citizens.
